Curriculum Vitae
I was born on 25th October 1964 in Győr. I completed my primary and secondary schools in my home town then later in Budapest I graduated in 1991 as a jazz performer , and in 1999 I received my wind orchestra conductor qualification. As a student of László Marosi I attended on more international courses held by famous foreign professors (eg. Bob Gifford, Ronald Johnson, Jan-Magnus Dahle). I learnt composing from István Bogár.
Between 1984 and 1988 I was a member of several bands, eg. the Rock Theatre Band, and other jazz and rock bands. I did my military service in Philharmonic Orchestra of Zrínyi Miklós Military Academy. Since 1991 I worked as a theatre musician in Germany - intermittenly - to 1994. Between 1994 and 1997 I was a composer of nature and instructional films and series of Vi-Dok Studio and respectively until 2001I was the regular orcestrator of Four Fathers Quartet. From 1997 to 2007 I worked as a music teacher of Lisznyai Szabó Gábor music school. I had been the music editor and director of the Hungarian Catholic Radio since 2004 to 2023.
In 2007 I graduated as a a teacher of religion major of Sapientia Theological College.The topic of my thesis was the history of and the possible teacing methods of religious music lead by Dr Lukács Áment, organ artist and Benedictine.
My works have been performed both Hungarian and foreign orchestras on regular basis since 1995. The performance of the Milleniumu Te Deum excels from them, which was performed by Kodály Choire Of Debrecen and Philharmonic Orchestra Of Debrecen and was conducted by Francisco Everes, Spanish conductor. The artwork was played by Bach Choir Of Budapest as well, conducted by István Ella. My compositions are regularly performed at the István Vántus Days of Contemporary Music in Szeged, the concerts of Society of Creative Musicians and of other Hungarian and Foreign events. My work titled ’Variációk és imrovizációk egy régi magyar dallamra’ (Variations and improvisations for an old Hungarian Melody)was performed by the Big Band of Conservatoire of Sydney at ISCM World Music Days event, conducted by Bill Motzing. ’Concerto for Tuba’ was performed by Zsolt Koppányi and Musikkapelle Obersdorf of Germany conducted by Marius Galvin in 2012. My first symphony was played on an contemporary Hungarian Evening with the works of Ferenc Farkas and Frigyes Hidas in Cordoba, Argentina on 12 June 2016.
I have composed theatre incidental music and musical plays since 1998, which are performed on several theatre performances time to time.
My works are published by Alliance Publications Inc. (USA), Solo Music Music Publisher of Budapest and Trio-Art Music. My first and second royalty CDs was published in 2014 and 2018 by Hungarian Culture Publisher.
I’m a member of Hungarian Composer's Union, Hungarian Jazz Federation, and Artisjus.
